Abiquo is a company developing an open source cloud computing platform for creating and managing complex IT architectures of information systems. In a quick, simple and scalable way.
First Abiquo Developer Day
Last Saturday we hosted our first abiquo developer day. It was a very good tech morning :).

First of all, Diego spoke about abiquo in a conference call. Xavi introduced the abiquo distributed platform and, after this, the main artists, Enric Ruiz and Albert Puig started the workshop.

The objective was to generate a mandelbrot scene using our platform. After this, we connected a logical resource (twitxr) and we demonstrated the easy way to connect resources. You can see the results here.
Pedro used this event to present abiCloud, the abiquo cloud platform, with a very interesting demo, where we deployed our distributed platform over a cloud and saw how we could add new nodes to the grid network only by dragging objects in a canvas.

Many participants, many good moments and some mistakes that we will improve in next Abiquo developer Days :)
THANKS everyone for attending.

Note: if you think that it can be interesting to have an abiquo Developer Day in another place or inside another event, contact us at contact (at) abiquo (dot) com

Yafray on a Cloud
This is a very good night. Between pizza and coke abiquo team have been playing and mashing up our Distributed yafray and Amazon.
A very good experience with very impresive results :) (See the video)
With this example we want to demonstrate the cloud power combined with grid computing capabilities: Use your IT infrastructure to reduce your time processes and externalize to Amazon instances when your computers can’t maintain your desired QoS. (With a low cost).
It’s time to go to sleep :) If you want to know more details or contact abiquo to integrate your hard tasks with amazon.
In a near future… more special news with abiquo + cloud computing. Stay tuned ;)
